The goal of TVF is to
create an even platform,
where creekers from
various regions can
compete, in a
quantifiable arena, and
determine who drops the
most Vertical Feet.
Scoring
The sum total of a team’s 8 best days, within their 3 month period, equals their TVF Score. Teams
can only count their 2 best days on any particular whitewater stretch. Teams are allowed up to 8
additional days to score points outside their home region.

Window
The United States offers a variety of creeking arenas which boast quality creeking opportunities
at different times. The East is arguably Feb – April, The West is arguably May - Julyish. To
embrace this diversity, the opportunity to score points within your home geographic region will
take place during its optimal time.
  • The East (Feb 15 – April 15)
  • The Rockies (May 1 – July 31)
  • California, Pacific North West (May 1 – July 31)
Just to make sure that we 100% dial in on the optimal time, each region has an appointed host who
will decide the exact day that the 3 month window will begin. This will avoid starting in a
drought or in case snow hasn’t started to melt on June 1st. Once a region’s window is open it will
remain open for 61 days.

Visiting Other Regions besides Your Home
Competitors are allowed, & encouraged, to acquire TVF in regions outside of their home geographic
region. Competitors have a total of 8 days to score points in the 2 regions outside of their own
(note: this is not 8 days per individual outside region). Teams may score points in foreign
regions any time during the competition, they don't have to go there during the 2 month window.

Bonus - Competitors who score TVF in all 3 regions are given 1 bonus day to score TVF in any
region/river of their choice.
